When you reset your tamagotchi, you get a new egg.
But you lose everything your previous tama owned, like money and items and history, parents and souvenirs. So if you clicked reset, you can press the middle button, which is B, it asks you to reset or download. Download is for when you change your mind and want your old tama back.
You don't need to select reset, since it changes nothing, the egg was always there. Here are uses of the reset buttons, though.
If you reset and then download, it randomly changes your time. But reset and download also takes you back to the last major event in your tama's life, like a game, growth, connect, or death.
If you're aiming for a Mametchi, and your hearts accidentally drop below one, Reset and Download.
When you're giving a friend a present, wait till the away sign is on screen and then Reset and Download. You'll both have that item. Cool!!
